Brandon and I have been wanting to have some two on one time with the boys. We have a great babysitting group with two other couples, but when Grady was too sick to go on Friday, we decided to take him along on our date. He REALLY didn't want to go with us. He told us he didn't want to miss Chris's (Tucker and Tatum's dad) bedtime stories. I talked him into coming by telling him we would have WAY more fun than Daxton and Tabitha, but that was a secret, so he couldn't tell Daxton. He started to get excited, and didn't even go in to his friends house when I dropped off the other kids.
He was so handsome in jeans and a button up, with that precious little face of his. He looked just like a little man.
The drive to the restaraunt was so pleasant. We talked about our High and Low for the day. His high was getting to play on the computer. His low was that Daxton kicked him. We told him how excited we were to get to spend time with just him. He told us he loved us lots of times and his personality really came out.
We went to PF Changs, and although he had his 4 year old moments, we had a very pleasant dinner. He made letters out of chopsticks and then told us what they were. The waiter told us he seemed like a very smart kid. Grady heard him and then told us his brain was smart.
At one point we went to the bathroom. Of course, the darn automatic toilet flushed while Grady was sitting on it, which is enough to make a kid never want to go in a potty again. Grady handled it though, and he said, "Mom, it swal-goed my pee." He cracks me up. Whatever illness he has, has affected his voice, so it's really quiet. When he said it, it was like a whisper, and so calm.
After dinner we told him we were going to take him to get a surprise and some ice cream. We went to Walmart and let him pick out a new Lego. It took him awhile to decide which one... probably 5 trips up and down the aisle. When he settled on a race car that has pull-back wheels we were off to the ice cream aisle. He chose a single serving of generic dippin' dots and he said it was his most favorite ice cream ever.
It was WONDERFUL to spend time with our Grady Monster. He was very sweet, very verbal, very loving, very handsome, and I am very much in love with him.
