The Tornado vs. Our Tree

A couple weeks back we had three days worth of big storms which is pretty much unheard of around here. I've lived here 12 years and have never experienced anything like it. On the final day of storms there were tornado watches and it was rather frightening. We lost about 4 tiles off the roof of our house. Just before dark we checked on our trees to make sure they were properly staked and this is what we found in the front.


It was sad, but could have been much worse. Brandon started to cut off the fallen half, but then we decided it might anchor the tree down for the rest of the storm, so we left it.

A few days later Brandon went out to cut up the fallen branch. This is typically a job that he would make the boys help with and they would whine the WHOLE time. Tabs was out front with him though, and she was more than happy to help...
